Filling the detergent bottle
• Remove the cap on the Detergent Bottle (11) and fill with a pressure washer-compatible
detergent if required (Image I)
• The pressure washer is designed to dispense detergent on the low pressure setting, and dispense
clear liquid on the high pressure setting
• The detergent ratio is variable depending on the pressure adjuster setting
Adjusting the telescopic rear handle
• Press the Rear Handle Release Button (25) and raise or lower the Telescopic Rear Handle (10)
(Image K)
Operation
Switching ON
• Always open the water supply tap before switching the pressure washer ON, to protect the pump
from damage .
• Set the Trigger Lock (22) to prevent the Trigger (21) from being pressed (Image J).
• Connect the pressure washer to the mains power supply and move the ON/OFF Switch (5) to ON
(Fig . VI) . The pump will operate immediately to build up pressure . It will also operate each time
the Trigger is pressed to restore water pressure. When first switched ON, the pump may operate
continuously until the Trigger is pressed . Do not allow this to exceed 3 minutes . Press and release
the Trigger to deactivate this mode and ideally start using within 2 minutes of switching ON .
• It is important that all air is bled from the hoses and lance before using the pressure washer .
Disable the Trigger Lock and squeeze and hold the Trigger until water is sprayed in a steady
stream. This may take up to 2 minutes or possibly longer on first use.
Switching OFF
• When you have finished using the appliance, always perform the following steps:
1. Switch OFF the appliance and disconnect from the mains power supply
2 . Turn OFF the water supply
3. Squeeze the Trigger (21) and allow all residual water pressure to bleed
4 . Disconnect the water supply
5 . Drain all water from the appliance and hoses, and store in a dry place
WARNING: Do not switch OFF the water supply before turning OFF the pump as the pump
must not be run without water .
WARNING: Never disconnect the high pressure hose at either end without depressurising first.
Using your pressure washer
• To spray water, ensure you are holding the lance securely with both hands and squeeze the
Trigger (21) . Beware of slight recoil .
• To disable the Trigger, use the Trigger Lock (22) when necessary (Image J).
• The Nozzle (13) is adjustable for a wide fan pattern and a strong narrow jet by rotating (Image
M) .
• Experiment with narrower patterns and different spray distances until the correct strength is
achieved . Release the Trigger when changing the setting .
• Use the Pressure Adjustment (14) (Image M) to adjust pressure output . Release the Trigger when
changing the setting .
• The pressure washer will protect the motor from over-heating if used continuously for too long,
and will prevent the Trigger from operating . It will reset after cooling for a few minutes . It is
recommended to have a work pattern that prevents the over-heating protection feature activating
by not holding down the Trigger continuously .
• If you are unsure of the durability of the surface that is being cleaned, avoid using the narrow jet
setting . Reduce the pressure and start at a longer distance from the surface .
• It is recommended that the lance is held at an angle of 45° to the surface being cleaned . This will
give maximum control and most effective cleaning .
• Always test-clean an inconspicuous area first to check that the cleaning process or detergent will
not damage the surface being cleaned, especially mortar between bricks or patio slabs, which
can be easily removed with a pressure washer when used without due caution .
Using detergent
Many products are available that are suitable for pressure washers, including patio cleaners, glass
cleaners, car shampoos, traffic film removers, wood and plastic cleaning solutions, and general
pressure washer detergents .
1 . Fill the Detergent Bottle (11) with the required detergent solution
2 . Dispense the detergent on a low pressure setting by adjusting the Pressure Adjustment (14)
(Image M), which is marked with '-' and '+'
3 . Increase the pressure with the Pressure Adjustment and spray away the detergent with a clear
spray
2100W Pressure Washer
Notes:
• A typical pattern of use for using detergent foam would be to first clean the surface with water to
remove light surface deposits, then apply detergent foam and finally, rinse off with clean water.
• Detergent foam requires a few minutes to work when applied . For maximum cleaning, leave 2-5
minutes between applying the foam and removing with clean water - this is an ideal opportunity
to brush/scrub the surface where most dirt has collected . Do not allow foam to dry on the surface .
• Do not use detergents which are not designed for use with pressure washers . They may contain
chemicals that could damage seals .
• The detergent dispenser is only suitable for detergents with a viscosity close to that of water .
If necessary, dilute detergent before filling the detergent dispenser. This pressure washer
has an approximate detergent ratio of 1/19th or 95% water to 5% detergent in use . Read the
instructions provided with the detergent thoroughly – especially if concentrated . Diluting to
the detergent manufacturer's recommendations will ensure effective cleaning without using
excessive detergent .
Accessories
A range of accessories is available from your Silverline stockist to enhance the functionality of your
pressure washer, including brushes, replacements, and higher specification parts.
Maintenance
Cleaning
• Keep your machine clean at all times .
• Always allow all water to drain from the pump before storing .
• The Nozzle (13) may become dirty or blocked over time, which will affect operation . Clean the
Nozzle using the Cleaning Pin (23) (Image L) supplied . A garden hose can also be used to clean
the Nozzle by back-flushing water through the Nozzle. Combining use of the pin and back-
flushing should enable the Nozzle to be fully cleaned. The frequency of doing this will depend on
the water quality in your area with hard water areas requiring more frequent cleaning .
• Regularly check the Inlet Hose Connector (24) filter to make sure it is clear. This filter must be
checked regularly to ensure it is clear from debris and other materials . Remove the Inlet Hose
Connector to access the filter.
Storage
• Always store this machine in a dry place that will not fall below 0˚C
• Ensure all inlets / outlets are capped if not connected to prevent foreign objects entering the
appliance when not in use
Transportation
• Disconnect the pressure washer from the power and water supply
• Use wheels to bear the weight of the machine to reduce risk of injury
• Ensure all inlets / outlets are capped to prevent the entrance of foreign objects or leakage from
the appliance
• Protect the pressure washer from heavy impact, strong vibrations and water during transit
• Ensure pressure washer is securely packed to prevent it falling over
