3. Adjustement of the head ring
Almost all ABUS helmets are available in 2 sizes.
Adjusting the helmet to the individual head size
can be achieved, depending on the type, with the
following easy to use fitting systems.
4. Adjustment of the straps
1. proper tightening of the chin strap is extremely important. If the chin strap is loose, the
helmet may break off in an impact, leaving your head completely unprotected. Do not use
a helmet that can be rolled off your head when the chin strap is closed, as it may come
off in an accident, resulting in death or serious injury. Do not use a chin strap or wear the
strap at the chin end. If the chin strap is not in the correct position [far under the chin
near the neck] or is not used properly, the helmet may come off in an accident, resulting in
death or serious injury.
2. to securely fasten the D-ring restraint system, thread the end of the chin strap through
the D-rings only, as shown in the illustration (Fig. A), and pull the loop back (Fig. B) by
pulling it firmly against your neck.
3. attach the snap on the end of the chin strap on the side of the D-rings as shown in (Fig.
C) to secure the loose end of the chin strap with the red snap after you have completed the
first step.
CHECK OCCASIONALLY DURING USE TO MAKE SURE THE STRAP DOES NOT COME LOOSE WHILE RIDING.
VISION AND EYE PROTECTION
Always check that you can see adequately, especially your peripheral vision (sideways while
looking forward). For example, if you are wearing a helmet in conjunction with goggles or
other eye protection, you may experience vision limitations. It is the responsibility of each
user to make sure that he or she can see adequately with the helmet on before using it.

Never use a helmet or eye protection that restricts your vision to the point that you cannot
safely ride a bicycle.
Failure to use proper eye protection can cause an accident and result in serious injury or
death.
