On a fl at horizontal surface, determine using a tape measure the 1
metre distance from the reference point. The calibration range of the
device is a maximum of -9 to 9 millimetres relative to a designat-
ed distance of 1 metre from the reference point. Place the rear of
the unit on the line of the designated distance from the reference
point. Start the unit and then select the measurement from the back
of the unit. Press the measurement mode button several times until
the display shows "CAL". Press the on/measurement button twice for
calibration. The device will measure the distance from the reference
point and then return to single measurement mode once calibration is
complete. This means that the calibration process has been carried
out correctly.
ATTENTION! The error message "Err18" during calibration indicates
that the distance of the device from the reference point is not with-
in the calibration range. Ensure that the actual distance measured
from the back of the unit to the reference point is within the calibra-
tion range. Press the reset/switch button briefl y to return to single
measurement mode, then repeat the calibration process as described
above.
