2.1 Brief description
The boiling water unit with automatic switch-
off is an open (unpressurized) unit for the
heating of drinking water for domestic and
similar kind of use. The drinking water is
heated using a low-scale discmatic
heating element. The unit can be filled with a
maximum of 5 litres of water, via the tap
fitting.
The thermostatic limiter switches the unit off
when the selected temperature is reached.
The hot water is drawn off via the tap fitting.
The unit is equipped with a connection cable.

2.3 Provisions and

• Installation (water and electrical installa-
tion) as well as the first start-up and main-
tenance of this unit may only be carried
out by an approved qualified installer, in
accordance with these instructions.
• Fault-free operation and operational safety
are only guaranteed if the original accesso-
ries and spare parts intended for the unit
are used.

2.4 Important guidance
The utmost degree of care must be

tions. It provides important guidance on

2.5 Installation location
The boiling water unit is to be in-
stalled vertically over the sink in
frost-free rooms.
2.6 Installation
• Mark the fixing holes for chosen hole
group (interspace dimension 143 mm
from construction year 1989 in the case of
Stiebel Eltron units), for this purpose

• Drill holes or use suitable existing holes.
• EBK 5 G:
– screw in double nipple (15);
– push plastic sleeve (16) onto the dou-

ble nipple.
– Screw in the fitting (17); note the dis-
tance from the wall (18)!

– Fit extension piece(s) (22) to tap fitting

plates supplied are to be used). Align the
wall mount using a spirit level. Note the

• Place the unit onto the wall bracket and
fitting from above, and align.
• Tighten the securing screws (21) and
thumb screw connection (20).
• Fit the overflow/steam pipe (5).

2.10 Maintenance
on it.
If carrying out maintenance work on the
fitting (e.g. changing the valve core),
reduce the water intake using the isolating
valve (33 b) (not permanently closed).
If changing the connecting cable (10), this
may only be replaced by a qualified
installer with the Stiebel Eltron spare part
order number 02 06 71.
