Advice
After frothing the milk, release the steam into the drip tray to keep the steam nozzle holes
clean.
Clean the steam nozzle and the steam dispenser after every use with a damp cloth in order
to remove possible liquid residues..
Attention: Be careful while cleaning the steam dispenser. Avoid skin contact (danger of
injury).
Important
Refill the boiler with water after frothing the milk.
Slightly open the steam/hot water valve and press the pump/hot water switch (Image 1 – no.8). You hear a
pump sound. Now the machine fills the boiler with water. Release steam and hot water into a big container.
Dispense steam and hot water until a water jet is visible. Release the valve and switch off the pump/hot
water switch (Image 1 – no.8).
You have now reduced the boiler temperature and may restart coffee preparation.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Regular and accurate care is very important for the performance, the longevity and the operational safety of
your machine.
Caution!
Always switch off the machine (power switch in lower position), disconnect the power cord
and let the machine cool down to room temperature (for at least 30 minutes) before cleaning.
Never submerse the machine in water. There is a risk of electric shock
7.1 General cleaning
Daily cleaning:
Portafilter, filters, water tank and drip tray require daily cleaning. Clean with water and/or with a food safe
detergent.
Clean the shower screen and the group gasket in the lower part of the brew group and remove visible dirt
without dissasembling the parts using a hard cleaning brush.
Portafilter, drip tray and water tank are not suitable for the dish washer.
Cleaning as necessary:
Clean the steam/hot water valve after every use.
Clean the body when the machine is switched off and cold.
Depending on usage, please refresh the boiler water every 1– 2 weeks by operating the pump switch and
extracting about 0.35 L of hot water from the steam wand.
Use a soft and damp cloth for cleaning.
Never use abrasive or chloric detergents!
Empty the water drip tray regularly and do not wait until it is full.
7.2 Brew group cleaning and degreasing
An ECM brew group cleaner is available at your specialised dealer. With this detergent, you can clean and
degrease the group very easily. The cleaning is carried out using the blind filter included in delivery. The
group cleaning with our tablets can be carried out after approx. 150 cups.
Follow the instructions as noted below:
1 Heat up the machine.
2 Place the blind filter into the portafilter.
3 Put approx. 3 - 5g of the group cleaning powder into the blind filter.
4 Clamp the portafilter into the group head.
