9. Operation
Only take the device into operation after familiarising yourself with its functions and these
operating instructions.
Check all the connections again. When you have done so, reconnect the negative pole of the car
battery.
a) General Operation
Button / MUT (6)
This button switches the radio on and off and activates muting.
Push briefly with the device switched off > device is switched on
Push briefly with the device switched on > muting is switched on or off
Keep pushed with the device switched on > device is switched off
To switch the SD tuner on, you can also push any other button on the device.
VOLUME rotary control / SELECT button (9)
In standard operation, the VOLUME control is for setting the volume.
Push the SELECT button (2) once or several times to change the parameters BAS (bass control),
TRB (treble control), BAL (balance control) and FAD (fader control), LOUD (loudness function) and DSP
(digital signal processor) by turning the VOLUME control.
Loudness function:
LOUD ON:
The loudness function is active.
LOUD OFF: The loudness function is inactive. The sound is not influenced.
At low volumes the human ear does not perceive very low and very high sounds well. An incre-
ase of the frequency range for low volume (loudness correction) counteracts this effect and the
music replay sounds more natural.
DSP function:

CLASSICS Pre-settings for classical music
POP M
Pre-setting for pop music
ROCK M
Pre-setting for rock music
DSP OFF
Signal processor off
LC Display (3)
The LC-display (3) shows all the information, depending on the audio source that is being played (radio,
SD-player etc.).
