TESTING AND COMMISSIONING
These are the most important steps in the development of an automa-
tion system, to ensure maximum system safety.
are responsible for establishing the tests required to check the effec-
tiveness of the solutions adopted with regard to the risks present, and
verifying compliance with the laws, standards and regulations in force:
in particular, all the requirements of standards EN 13241-1 and EN
12445 that establish the test methods for automatic gates and doors.
manuals for the individual devices.
4.1 - Testing
The testing procedures can also be used to periodically check the
devices making up the automation system.
Each individual component in the automation system (sensitive edges,
these devices, proceed as described in the corresponding instruction
manuals.
Perform the tests as follows:
01.
Check that all the instructions in the WARNINGS chapter
have been strictly followed.
02.
Close the door.
03.
Perform several tests to make sure the door slides correctly
and check for any defects in assembly or adjustment and for
any friction.
04.
Make sure there are no points of friction on the door when
moving.
05.
Check, one by one, that all the safety devices featured in the
system (photocells, sensitive edges, etc.) work properly.
06.
If the dangerous situations caused by the movement of the
door have been safeguarded against by limiting the impact
force, the impact force must be measured according to
standards EN 13241-1 and EN 12445.
07.
Once having completed the tests, power on the control unit
and after having disengaged the emergency manual device,
start the gear motor.

FURTHER INFORMATION
5.1 - Static braking torque
The static braking torque is the maximum load allowed on the gear motor in the event of failure to counterbalance the weight of the door.
If the springs should break, the sectional door is prevented from falling if the gear motor is able to support its weight.
The static braking torque Tlock is calculated using the following formula:
T
[Nm] = Door weight [N] × cable drum radius [m]
LOCK
Considering that two torsion springs may break at the same time, the gear motor should be sized so as to be able to support:
- 100% of the weight of the door with one or two springs
- 67% of the weight of the door with three springs
- 50% of the weight of the door with four springs.
If the cable drum is scalar or conical, the widest diameter should be considered. Also take into account the admissible breaking load of the
cables.
4.2 - Commissioning
Commissioning can only be performed after obtaining positive results
in all the tests run on the control unit and the other devices (paragraph
4.1).
It is not permissible to execute partial commissioning or to enable use
of the system in "makeshift" conditions.
01.
for at least 10 years. This must at least include: an assem-
bly drawing of the automation system, a wiring diagram, an
analysis of hazards and solutions adopted, a manufacturer's
declaration of conformity of all the devices installed (use the
annexed EU declaration of conformity); a copy of the automa-
tion system instruction manual and maintenance schedule.
02.
the operations for releasing the system and manual opera-
tion.
03.
ing at least the following data: type of automation system,
name and address of manufacturer (person responsible for
commissioning), serial number, year of manufacture and "CE"
marking.
04.
Prepare the declaration of conformity for the automation sys-
tem and consign it to the owner.
05.
Consign the "user manual" (detachable insert) to the owner of
the automation system.
06.
Prepare the maintenance schedule for the automation system
and consign it to the owner.
07.
Before putting the automation system into service, suitably
warn the owner of any residual hazards and risks, in writing.
