14. Handling
• Operation is only permissible in dry indoor areas. The emergency power supply
must not get damp or wet. There is danger to life from electric shock!
• Never use the product immediately after it was taken from a cold into a warm
environment. The resulting condensation may destroy the device. Moreover,
there is the risk of a fatal electric shock!
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting and using it. This
process may take several hours.
• Check the product for damage before each use!
If there is any damage, the product must NOT be connected to mains voltage or
switched on.
It must be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device shows visible signs of damage,
- the product does not work properly or not at all anymore (e.g. smell of fire)
- the product was stored under unfavourable conditions.
• The following unfavourable conditions are to be avoided at the place of installa-
tion or during transport:
- moisture or high humidity
- extreme cold or heat
- dust or flammable gases, fumes or solvents
- strong vibrations
