8. Preparations for Installation
Observe Chapter "5. Safety Notes".
When the product is connected to the mains voltage, this must be done by a
qualified specialist (e.g. electrician) familiar with the relevant regulations
(e.g. VDE)!
Improper work carried out at the mains supply endangers not only your life
but also the lives of others!
If you do not have the expertise required for the installation, do not install the
device yourself but ask a qualified technician.
• Only install the emergency power supply on a stable surface. Use screws or
dowels appropriate for the surface: The product must be operated stationarily
installed.
• The emergency power supply must be voltage-free during installation.
Turn the power off and remove the electric circuit fuse or switch off the circuit
breaker. Protect it from unauthorised re-activation, e.g. with a danger sign.
Switch off the corresponding fault circuit interrupter to separate all poles of the
mains supply.
Check that the mains connection is free of current, e.g. with an appropriate tester.
• Do not install the emergency power supply close to heaters, electrical devices,
transmitters, doors or windows. Avoid direct sun irradiation, heat or cold.
• Installation must be in a place with sufficient ventilation, since unfavourable
conditions may lead to the formation of explosive gases during charging of the
lead batteries.
• First close the casing (screw on cover) before taking the emergency power
supply into operation!
