• If the draught is still too high in the maximum closed position of the efficiency plate, fit a flue gas valve in
the flue pipe. If you are overloading the appliance and therefore in danger of overheating, close the air
supply completely. In this case, never open the door of your appliance (and certainly not in the event of a
chimney fire).
ATTENTION!
The inner workings of the combustion chamber can be damaged by loading the appliance too roughly.
7.5 Heat-resistant inserts
Inside the appliance are vermiculite plates. These are insulation boards that ensure a higher temperature
inside the appliance.
The durability of the plates depends heavily on your heating behaviour.
Wet wood, for instance, causes the plate to become porous faster.
If you then bump into it, the board may break. If the boards crack after several fires, you can continue to fire
without any adverse effects on combustion.
However, if the plates swell and/or disintegrate due to moisture accession, the plates should be replaced.
The plates are easy to replace.
If you want to buy a new plate, please inform the dealer of the appliance type and dimensions.

7.6 What must I do in the event of a chimney fire?
We recommend that you take the following steps in the event of a chimney fire
1. Close off the air supply.
2. Call the fire brigade.
3. Clear access routes to the cleaning openings (e.g. cellar and attic).
4. Move all inflammable objects away from the chimney.
5. When the appliance is put back into service, the chimney and the stove should be checked over by a
specialist.
6. This specialist should also investigate the cause of the chimney fire after and take any corrective
measures.
