7.4 Operating the stove
Light the appliance using the Swiss method. With this method, the appliance is lit from top to bottom. This
ensures complete, therefore clean and responsible combustion with minimal emission of stick and smoke.
Proceed as follows:
• If a choke valve is fitted in the flue, open it fully.
• Put the air control slider in the fully open position, this is fully to the right.
• Stack the pieces of wood crosswise from thick to thin, at a small distance from each other. On top of this,
stack some more crosswise kindling. And at the very top, place the firelighter.
• Then light the kindling and the fire burns from top to bottom .
The wood heats up slowly, so it burns longer and the fire is more controlled
• Close the door at ajar position.
