12.BATTERY & CHARGER
The Rucanor e-bike is equipped with a battery. This
battery is built into the frame and should be carefully
inserted and removed. To remove the battery, place
the battery key in the lock (note that the battery key is
a different key than the bicycle key) and turn the key
a quarter turn to the left. The battery comes up and
can be taken out. To place the battery, first lower the
bottom of the battery pack into the frame and then
press the battery pack whole into the frame. A clicking
sound follows and the battery is now in the frame.
Now you can take out the key.
The battery has 3 colors, green, red and blue. Blue
means full capacity, green means sufficient and if the
light is red, the battery needs to be charged.
The battery power will be shown on the display.
Important when using batteries!
1.
When charging, always plug into the battery first
and then plug into the wall outlet. Otherwise, the
battery will get a peak voltage, which will damage
the battery.
2.
Do not store the battery in a cold or hot place,
preferably between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius.
Temperature affects the battery capacity. Do not
charge the battery at night, when no one is home
and preferably in the shed, garage or the like.
Batteries can be a fire hazard.
1.
2.
3.
Do not drop the battery pack. Doing so may cause
the battery to fail irreparably, and resulting gaps
will allow moisture to penetrate into the battery.
4. Battery capacity decreases every year. This is not
covered by the warranty.
5. Be sure to cycle the battery completely empty for
the first 3 rides and charge it again completely full.
This way, the battery knows to reach its maximum
battery capacity.
6. Do not store a completely empty or full battery
for an extended period of time without using it. If
you do not use the bike or battery for an extended
period of time make sure you have charged it 75%.
RANGE
The range indicates how many kilometres can be
driven with a fully charged battery. The range depends
on many
different factors:
•
Capacity (Ah) and voltage (V) of the battery pack
•
Assistance Level
•
Assistance type, i.e. setting
•
Tyre pressureDriving Speed
•
Driving Behaviour
•
Outside temperature
•
Wind speed
•
Road condition
•
