Replacing and adjusting disc brake pads
Disc brake pads should be replaced if they are thinner than
0.5 millimetres. This is easily done by loosening the entire
caliper, by unscrewing bolts A. Then remove the firing pin (B)
and remove the brake pads with the holder from the calliper.
Replace the pads and put them back in the calliper
including the holder. Replace the firing pin. Then replace the
caliper and tighten bolts A loosely. Squeeze the brake a few
times and keep it depressed while tightening bolts A again.
Adjusting the brake is done in the same way. Loosen bolts A
and squeeze the brake a few times. Keep the brake
depressed and retighten bolts A again. The brake should now
no longer apply and the brake disc should be free. If this is
not the case, send a video to our brake customer service.
Important! The brake will squeak and get less braking power
due to a dirty and/or greasy brake disc and pads. So do not
touch the disc brake unnecessarily and only treat the brake
with the appropriate cleaning products.
Points of attention
•
Cables must not show kinks or creases
•
Bolts and nuts must be tight.
•
Brake surfaces must be clean and grease-free.
•
For safety reasons, it is advisable never to brake with the
front brake alone. As a result, the front wheel can easily
lock and cause a possible fall.
•
If you notice the braking performance decreasing over
time, it could be down to a brake not being properly
adjusted or wear, which you can't necessarily continue
to use on the road.
6.WHEELS
Tyres
For optimal riding comfort, it is recommended to
inflate the tyres3.5 to 4.5 bar. This also depends on the rider's
weight. If the rider's body weight is light, the bar may be low
and if the rider's body weight is high, the bar may be high.
Spokes
The spokes should be at the correct tension. Over time, the
spokes should be tightened, this is further explained under
'Maintenance' later in this manual. If a spoke is bent or
broken, always have it replaced immediately to prevent
further damage to the wheel.
7.LUGGAGE CARRIER
As the name implies, the luggage carrier is intended for
luggage and not as a seat for people. For the correct
maximum load, check on the carrier itself.
