3. Maintenance

3.1 General

Do not allow any cleaning product or oil to come
into contact with the brake linings, brake discs or
braking surfaces on the rim. If this does happen, it
will hinder the performance of your brakes.
Do not use a powerful jet of water or a pressure
washer for cleaning. If a jet of water is too
powerful, it could get into the bearings and dilute
the lubricant causing increased friction. The result
of this is that rust will form and the bearings will be
damaged.
Cleaning suggestions
• Check that the contacts are dry before riding the
bike again.
Never clean your bike with:
• acid solutions, • greases, • hot oil, • brake
cleaning products (apart from for brake discs),
• liquids containing solvents
These substances attack the surfaces of the bike
and encourage wear and tear.
After use, dispose of lubricants and cleaning and
maintenance products according to rules for
protecting the environment. Do not dispose of
these substances with household waste, in drains

2.4.4 Headset

The headset is what holds the fork in the frame.
When it is in the right position, the headset can
turn easily. It must not be loose however.
The headset goes through a lot thanks to impacts
on rough surfaces. It can become loose or get
messed up. Check the position of the headset
regularly (it mustn't be too tight or too loose). The
headset can break if it is not adjusted properly or is
too tight. This is why it should always be adjusted
by your approved O2Feel reseller.
If the headset is too loose, this can damage the
cups or the fork.
or in nature.
Your bike will only work properly and last if you
look after it.
Clean your bike regularly with a sponge and
hot water, applying small quantities of cleaning
products.
When you do this, make sure there are no cracks,
grooves or distortions anywhere on your bike.
Replace faulty parts before using your bike.
In particular, make sure you regularly deal with
any parts affected by corrosion, using protective
and maintenance products, especially in winter
or in aggressive environments, such as by the sea.
Failure to do this, the corrosion (rust) could spread
more extensively and faster on your bike.
Regularly clean all galvanized and chrome parts,
as well as stainless steel components.
If you do not use your bike for a while, in winter
for example, store it somewhere dry, at a uniform
temperature.
Before putting your bike away, pump up both tyres
according to the recommended inflation pressure.
Check the websites of the relevant component
manufacturers to find out the most important
points about this subject.
