3.5 GENERAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTICS
This paragraph describes the general operating characteristics of the product purchased.
➢ ON/OFF SWITCH
The functions related to the power button are listed below:
Turn shear on:
After connecting the battery, prolonged pressure on the ON/OFF button causes the shear to switch on,
confirmed by the emission of a long beep followed by a short one and the switching on of the indicator light (6).
Turn shear off:
With the shear switched on, a long press on the power button switches the shear off, confirmed by the indicator
light (6) switching off.
➢ OPERATING LEVER
The functions relating to the operating lever are listed below:
Enable Shear:
To be able to use the shear after it has been switched on, blade movement must be enabled. Pressing and
releasing the operating lever quickly twice in a row (Double Click) enables the blades. To use the shear, press
the operating lever to close the blades and release it to reopen them.
Blade closing mode:
Hold the operating lever down for a long press until it makes a long beep.
Releasing the operating lever disables the shear with closed blades. The shear remains switched on (see Auto
Off time) but disabled, i.e. with the blades not working.
To reactivate the shear for cutting, the operating lever must be pressed and released quickly twice (Double
Click).
➢ AUTOMATIC SWITCH-OFF
When the shear is switched on, key/lever inactivity for a period of 5 minutes or more results in the shear
automatically switching off, confirmed by a long beep.
➢ INTERRUPTED CUTTING
In order to preserve the electronics and mechanical components of the shear, cutting is interrupted when there
is excessive strain on the cutting blade, caused by a branch that is too hard or too large in diameter.
The blades, following the interrupted cut, open automatically to free the branch.
3.6 BATTERY USE
The following section contains general information and rules, which must in any case be observed, for the correct use
of batteries.
Lithium-ion batteries can explode, cause fires or generate undesirable thermal effects such as 'Thermal
Runaway' if disassembled, short-circuited, damaged or handled improperly. Do not expose to water, fire or
high temperatures.
The battery is comparable to a 'reservoir' from which the product to which it is connected draws the electrical energy
required for its operation.
NOTE:
In this section the term battery or battery pack may be used synonymously.
The battery consists of lithium-ion cells based on lithium chemistry, with modules connected in parallel and including
a management and control system for the main quantities involved in the perfect functioning of the battery in its
charge and discharge cycles.
