8 Installing the battery
1. Remove the test leads from the input terminals.
2. Loosen the screw that holds the battery compartment cover in place. Remove
the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert a 9V battery into the battery compartment. Observe the battery polarity
markings in the compartment.
4. Install the battery compartment cover and tighten the screw.
9 Measuring solar panels
9.1 Running pre-measurement performance checks
Before you measure solar panels, test that the meter functions properly by meas-
uring a known voltage or current source that is within the product's specifications.
1. Connect the positive and negative test leads to a voltage or current source for
which you know the expected measurement values.
