15. Inspection and maintenance
Inspection of components is required by the Workplace
Regulations (ArbStättV) Section 53 and the Accident Prevention
Regulations VBG 1 (UVV-VBG 1) Section 39.
Practically the same wording in both regulations requires an
annual inspection of the fire-extinguishing equipment and the
sprinkler system, among others. Furthermore, the interim
regulation S1/97 of VdS 2092 recommends that maintenance is
carried out annually by a certified installer.
Section 5 of the Accident Prevention Regulation UVV-VBG 4 and
the appropriate work instructions for electrical systems and fixed
electrical equipment require an inspection at least every 4 years.
The electrical components must be inspected by an electrical
specialist.
The extent of the inspection is essentially regulated by
DIN VDE 0105 and the necessary system-specific functional
inspections.
We recommend that you inspect the clamp and screw
connections, especially the protective grounding connections, the
connections in the control cabinet as well as in the motor terminal
boxes of the fire pump motor and the auxiliary equipment.
It is therefore advisable to conclude a maintenance contract.
16. Taking the pump out of operation
Conduct the process of taking the pump out of operation in
coordination with the VdS-certified installation company and the
fire reporting centre or the local fire brigade.
