6.1.6
Greasing the motor pinion
Lubricate the pinion on the motor with grease every week to minimise
wear on the teeth due to the gears sliding and rolling.
Carry out the following operations as listed below:
•
Turn off the tool with the ON / OFF button (10) and remove the battery
pack (16) by pressing on the flaps (17).
•
Lift the fixing nut knob (3) and turn it until the front cover (5) can be re-
moved.
•
Remove the bar (2) and chain (1).
•
Remove the screw (A) and the O-ring (B).
•
Inject a small amount of grease into the hole.
•
Tighten the screw (A) with the O-ring (B) inserted.
6.1.7
Sharpening the chain
CAUTION!
Wear heavy-duty gloves.
CAUTION!
To sharpen and service the chain (1), follow the manufacturer's instructions. Decreasing the height of the
depth adjusting device could increase the kickback risk.
Upper angle
of the plate
The pitch of the chain (1) is1/4", therefore, use a 4 mm diameter file and a flat one.
•
Always sharpen the chain from the inside to the outside of the cutter, keeping the inclination of the cutter un-
changed.
•
After sharpening, all cutting teeth must be of the same length and width.
File as shown
Put the depth gauge in a stable position on the chain (1), so that the depth limiter protrudes. File the protruding part of
the depth limiter until it reaches the same level as the depth gauge. Round the front angle of the depth limiter.
