IMPORTANT!
If the chain is new, it requires a run-in period during which its tension must be checked more often.
6.1.2
Replacement of the chain and/or cutting bar
Carry out the following operations as listed below:
•
Turn off the tool with the ON / OFF button (10) and remove the battery pack (16) by pressing on the flaps (17).
•
Lift the fixing nut knob (3) and turn it anticlockwise until the front cover (5) can be removed.
•
To loosen the chain (1), turn the adjusting screw (4) anticlockwise until it stops.
•
Remove the bar (2) and the chain (1) to be replaced.
•
Mount the chain on the bar, inserting the tabs of the chain transmission links (1) in the groove of the bar. The ar-
rows on the connecting links, in the upper part of the bar (2), must point towards its tip.
•
Place the bar and chain on the tool making sure that:
-
the guide links of the chain are inserted in the teeth of the pinion
-
the eyelet (A) on the bar is inserted in the guide on the tool body.
-
the chain tensioning pin (B) is inserted in the hole on the bar.
•
Refit the casing (5) and screw the fixing nut knob (3) clockwise without tightening.
•
Tension the chain by turning the adjusting screw (4) clockwise so that it is tight and can slide easily with the force
of your hand.
•
When proper tension is achieved, turn the knob clockwise until the casing is tightened on the bar, then close the
knob again.
