CAUTION!
Before starting to cut:
•
Run the chain (1) at half speed for several minutes to allow the oil to reach all parts of the guide bar (2) and
of the chain (1).
•
Switch off the tool and check the chain (1) for proper tension.
•
Do not use excessive force during the first few cuts.
KICKBACK SAFETY.
Kickback can occur when the upper part of the bar (12) touches an object, or when the wood gets locked or
crushed during the cut. Hold the tool firmly with both hands in order to avoid or reduce the kickback effect.
The knowledge and prevention of any kickback eliminates the "surprise factor", therefore reducing potential
accidents. Make sure that the cutting area is clear of obstacles.
5.2
Improper uses
•
Do not use the tool when you are in unstable position or off balance.
•
Do not cut materials other than wood.
•
Never use the tool as a lever or for lifting, moving or breaking any objects.
•
Never use the tool if the atmosphere is explosive or flammable.
5.3
Transporting the tool
Transport the tool with the bar (2) facing backwards and the bar cover (15) engaged.
Before long transports over prolonged periods of time (more than 15 minutes), place the tool in its packaging. These
behaviour will prevent accidentally damaging objects and/or the product, as well as harming people during transport.
5.4
Storing
When the tool has not to be used for a long period:
•
Follow all the maintenance instructions in the manual.
•
Empty the oil tank (14) and close the cap (12).
•
Remove cutting residues (sawdust) from the front cover (5).
•
Reassemble and clean the tool perfectly.
•
Insert the bar cover (15) on the cutting bar.
•
Recharge the batteries before placing them in the box.
•
Store the tool together with its components in the case.
•
Store the product in a dry place.
•
If the tool is not used for long periods, recharge the batteries every 3 months at the latest.
