6 MAINTENANCE
6.1
Routine maintenance
CAUTION!
•
Before carrying out any routine maintenance, switch off with the ON-OFF button (10), remove the battery
(16) from the tool and wear heavy-duty gloves.
•
All the maintenance operations which are not described in this manual have to be performed in Authorised
Service Centres.
The routine maintenance operations may be carried out by the operators.
6.1.1
Chain tension adjustment
The chain (1) has a tendency to expand or shrink when using the tool, changing its tension. Periodically check the ten-
sion of the chain and adjust it if necessary.
Do not tension the chain when it is elongated due to heat. Wait for it to cool down before adjusting it again.
The correct tension is when the chain fits snugly against the bottom of the bar
(2) and can still be easily pulled along the bar with two fingers.
To adjust the chain tension, perform the following operations as listed below:
•
Use the ON-OFF button (10) to switch off the tool
•
Remove the battery pack (16) by pressing on the flaps (17)
•
Lift the fixing nut knob (3) and turn it anticlockwise until the casing pressing on the bar is loosened.
•
Turn the adjusting screw (4) clockwise with a screwdriver until the chain is properly tensioned.
•
Turn the knob clockwise until the casing is tightened on the bar, then close the knob.

SOLUTIONS
Recharge the battery (16)
Check the tool for proper connection to the battery (16).
Take the tool to a Service Centre authorised by the Man-
ufacturer.
Recharge the battery (16).
Sharpen or replace the chain (1).
Adjust the tension of the chain (1).
Top up the oil in the tank (14).
Adjust the tension of the chain (1).
Top up the oil in the tank (14).
Sharpen the chain (1).
Replace the chain (1).
Top up the oil in the tank (14) through the cap (12).
Replace the battery (16).
Replace the battery charger (18).
Make sure the battery charger (18) is the one supplied
with the product.
