Starting a cold engine
Place the chainsaw on the ground.
Activate the chain brake.
Set the on/off switch (18) to the "I"
position.
Pull the choke (14) out.
Press the primer (11) 10 times until fuel
is visible in it.
Pull the starter handle (20) until the
engine is about to start, but no more
than 5 times.
Push the choke in.
Pull the starter handle until the engine
starts. Allow the engine to warm up for
30 seconds.
Deactivate the chain brake.
Press the throttle (17) and the safety
switch (13) in to use the chainsaw.
Be aware that the chain moves around
once you rev up the engine!
The chain must not move around when
the engine idles. If it does, adjust the
idling speed as described under Carbu-
rettor adjustment in the Maintenance
section.
Starting a warm engine
The warm engine start procedure is the
same as for cold, except that you do not
need to pull the choke out.
Stopping the engine
Release the throttle and allow the en-
gine to idle for a couple of minutes.
Push the on/off button down to the "O"
position.
Running in the engine
The engine should be run in for the first
20 operating hours. Avoid running at
full revs or at high speed for prolonged
periods in the first 20 operating hours.
