is switched on. If the defaults are only changed in one of the programs
original defaults appear again the next time the REMS Multi-Push is switched
on. Reset resets all defaults to factory settings and the language to German
and the date, time, units formats to DD.MM.YYYY, 24 h, m/bar.
Attention: The user is solely responsible for transferred or newly entered
test criteria (test sequences, pressures and times) or defaults in the
individual programs and the conclusions from the tests.
The respective national safety provisions, rules and regulations valid for
the application site must be considered and observed.
Before using the REMS Multi-Push, check whether the respective latest version
software is installed on the input and control unit. Select the Settings menu and
then Device data to display the version software. The latest version software
(Ver. Software) for the input and control unit is available by USB stick as a
download: www.rems.de → Downloads → Software → REMS Multi-Push →
Download. Compare the number of the version software of the unit with the latest
version software number and install the latest version software if necessary.
Download procedure:
1. Download fi le
2. Unpack the ZIP fi le
3. Save "update.bin" on USB stick
4. Plug the USB stick into the USB port of the REMS Multi-Push
REMS Multi-Push must be switched off for this, switch off with the On/Off button
(Fig. 2 (4)) and pull out the mains plug if necessary. Insert the USB stick with
the latest version software into the USB port (Fig. 2 (33)). Plug the mains plug
into the socket. Press the Reset button (Fig. 1 (2)) of the PRCD fault current
circuit breaker (1). The control lamp (5) lights green. The latest version software
is installed. When a USB stick with LED is used, the LED starts fl ashing. The
installation is fi nished when the LED no longer fl ashes. If the USB stick has no
LED, you should wait about 1 minute after switching on the PRCD. The latest
version software is then installed on the input and control unit. Pull out the USB
stick.Switch on REMS Multi-Push with the On/Off button (4). Press the "?"
button (7) within 5 s. Select Device data\Reset in the Settings menu with the
arrow buttons ↑ ↓ (8), press the Enter button (9) then press the Enter button
(9) again to confi rm the reset.
Before starting up for the fi rst time, the language, date and time should be set
in the Settings menu and the defaults for the individual programs checked and
changed if necessary.
If the "?" button (Fig. 2 (7)) is pressed within 5 s after switching on the REMS
Multi-Push, the Settings menu opens. The desired line is selected on the screen
with the arrow buttons ↑ ↓ (8). Displayed values can be changed with the arrow
buttons ← → (11). The value is increased with the arrow pointing to the right
and reduced with the arrow pointing to the left. The values change faster when
the arrow buttons ← → (11) are kept pressed. If more than 5 lines in a subrou-
tine are occupied, this is displayed by arrows ▼▲ in the top or bottom right
hand corner of the screen respectively. The complete selection of the screen
is confi rmed with the Enter button (9) and the next screen appears.
The previous screen appears if the Esc button (10) is pressed during the setting.
Already changed values are rejected.
If the Esc button (10) is pressed during the stabilisation/wait time (t stabi), the
program aborts, the values (useless) are still saved, appear on the screen and
"Cancel" appears additionally on the screen and possibly on the print strip.
If the Esc button (10) is pressed during the test time (t test), the values are still
saved, appear on the screen and "Cancel" appears additionally on the screen
and possibly on the print strip. In the test programs Enter provides a shortcut
for the adaptation of p actual to p refer.

2.4 Flushing programs
To fl ush pipe systems with water, with water/air mixture with intermittent
compressed air and with water/air mixture with constant compressed air, REMS
Multi-Push must be connected to the water supply or the manifold of the instal-
lation (Fig. 3) or to the heating system (Fig. 5) as follows:
To fl ush drinking water pipes after the house connection (water meter) (Fig. 3),
fi t the REMS fi ne fi lter (12) (Art. No. 115609) with fi lter cartridge 90 µm. Connect
the suction/pressure hose (13) to the fl ushing supply (14) after the fi ne fi lter.
Fit the second suction/pressure hose (13) to the fl ushing drain (Fig. 4 (15)) and
connect to the installation to be fl ushed.
Proceed accordingly to fl ush heating systems (Fig. 5). However, it is necessary
to fi t a system separator in accordance with EN 1717:2000 after the house
connection (water meter) (Fig. 5) to prevent contamination of drinking water by
fl owback. Do not use suction/pressure hoses for drinking water lines any more
after they have been used for heating systems.
2.5 Program Ingredients/Disinfection
WARNING
The European standard EN 806-4:2010 prescribes the following for the
"Selection of disinfectants":
"Drinking water installations may be disinfected after fl ushing if this is prescribed
by a responsible person or authority."
"All chemicals that are used for the disinfection of drinking water installations
must meet the requirements for chemicals for water treatment which are spec-
ifi ed in European standards or, if European standards are not applicable, in
national standards and technical rules."
"Disinfectants must be used and applied in agreement with the appropriate EC
directives and all local or national regulations."
"Transport, storage, handling and use of all these disinfectants can be dangerous,
therefore health and safety regulations must be strictly observed."
In Germany
Germany the Technical Rules – Worksheet DVGW W 557 (A) October
2012 of the DVGW German Association of the Gas and Water Industry
e.V. and the information leafl et "Flushing, disinfection and commissioning
of drinking water installations" (August 2014) of the German Central
Association for Sanitary, Heating and Air Conditioning (ZVSHK) recom-
mends hydrogen peroxide H

User friendliness, work protection and environmental protection etc. must be
considered in the choice of disinfection chemicals. It should be noted that, when
using oxidants containing chlorine (sodium hypochlorite NaOCl and chlorine

to be considered harmful to the environment.
REMS therefore recommends disinfecting drinking water installations with
REMS Peroxi (hydrogen peroxide H
alternative with regard to use friendliness, work protection and environmental
protection because it decomposes into hydrogen and water when used and
therefore forms no critical decomposition products and can be drained into
sewers without problems because of its rapid decomposition. Besides, the
concentration of REMS Peroxi with 1.5 % hydrogen peroxide is not classifi ed
as dangerous (not a hazardous substance).
REMS Peroxi consists of a watery solution hydrogen peroxide corresponding
to the application concentration of the dosing solution of 1.5 % H
to 15 g/l H
O

water a concentration of the disinfection solution of 150 mg H
The advantage of the concentration of the dosing solution chosen by REMS is
also that the user gets a ready to use dosing solution which is not a hazardous
substance. Nevertheless, the safety data sheets for REMS Peroxi and REMS
Color under www.rems.de → Downloads → Safety data sheets as well as other
local and national regulations must be observed. Every REMS Peroxi dosing
solution comes with a REMS Color dye that is not harmful to the health which
is mixed with the dosing solution immediately before the disinfection process
and dyes this. This enables a simple check whether the disinfection solution
has entered the drinking water installation and whether it has been fl ushed out
completely at the end of disinfection. The contents of a 1 l bottle of dosing
solution suffi ces for disinfection of a section with a volume of approx. 100 l.
We advise against buying disinfectants, e.g. hydrogen peroxideH
concentrations which the user then has to dilute to the recommended concen-
tration of the dosing solution. Such actions are dangerous due to the higher
concentrations of the disinfectants so that hazardous substance and chemical
prohibition directives and possibly other national laws must be observed. In
addition, errors in the preparation of the self-mixed dosing solution can cause
harm to persons and damage to the drinking water installation.
Fit the REMS fi ne fi lter (Fig. 3 (12)) (Art. No. 115609) with fi lter cartridge 90 µm
after the house connection (water meter). Connect the suction/pressure hose
