Safety instructions

Attention:
This manual is supplemental to the wheelchair
user manual. All safety instructions from the
wheelchair user manual also apply to a wheel-
chair fitted with an Aura push support.
Read this user manual and the wheelchair
user manual carefully before using the push
support.
If you see this symbol in the manual, it indicates
an instruction. Always follow this instruction.
Negligence may adversely affect the operation
of the Aura push support and may cause
physical injury or damage to the push support,
the wheelchair or the environment.
General
Warning:
Never change the construction of the push
support.
Never try to open the housing of the electro-
nic components. This could cause irreversible
damage and you will void the warranty.
Attention:
The Aura push support has a fully program-
mable electronic control system. Changes to
programming must only be made by Life &
Mobility authorised service engineers and
dealers.
Only use original Life & Mobility parts and

Personal requirements
The Aura push support is an aid for the companion
and places no additional demands on the wheelchair
user. The user requirements in the wheelchair user
manual remain in force.
Attention:
In the event of fault or an empty battery,
the push support will be disabled. In such
circumstances, the companion needs to
be capable of making the wheelchair safe.
This can be done for example by setting the
wheelchair in free-wheel and continuing to
push manually or by applying the brake and
seeking assistance.
When using the Aura push support on slopes,
the fitness of the companion determines
in part the maximum slope on which the
wheelchair may be used safely.
Assembly and adjustment
Warning:
Before using the push support, check that all
its parts are properly mounted and secured.
Attention:
On setting the height and angle of the push
handles, check that the cables cannot become
trapped.
Using the Aura
(See also the chapter 'Use').
Warning:
Switch off the push support if the wheelchair is
left without supervision.
