Steam nozzle
The steam pipe should be cleaned daily. Do this by sliding down the lower part of the pipe (the spout) and cleaning it thoroughly with
water.
Make sure the steam pipe has cooled down, as it can burn you if it is hot.
Descaling
Tap water contains lime; the amount of lime varies from one municipality to another. Therefore, like any hot water machine, this
espresso machine should be descaled regularly. Lime settles in the inner parts of the machine and in small openings, e.g. the steam
nozzle. Over time, this affects the operation of the machine, the flow of water and there is a risk of damage to the machine.
Follow the steps below to descale the machine.
1.
Fill the water tank to the MAX mark with cold tap water.
2.
Dissolve the 2 level tablespoons (approx. 30 g) of citric acid in it.
3.
Place the water tank back on the machine.
4.
Switch the appliance on with the On/Off button and allow it to warm up voo.
5.
The dial is set to "-".
6.
Insert the sieve holder without the sieve.
7.
Place a collecting receptacle (approx. 250 ml) under the sieve holder
8.
Press the espresso button when the espresso LED lights up continuously.
9.
Allow approx. 250 ml of descaling solution to run through.
10.
Press the espresso button again to stop.
11.
Empty the receptacle and place it under the steam nozzle.
12.
Wait until the espresso LED lights up continuously again.
13.
Turn the dial to the "+" symbol and press the espresso button again.
14.
Allow approx. 250 ml of descaling solution to run through.
15.
Press the espresso button 25 again to stop.
16.
Turn the dial to "-" (OFF).
17.
Let the descaling solution soak in for 15 minutes.
18.
Repeat the process.
Rinsing process
1.
Remove the water tank from the machine and shake out any remaining descaling agent.
2.
Rinse the water tank several times with clean water.
3.
Fill the water tank to the MAX mark with clean, cold tap water and replace it.
4.
Perform both rinsing processes (as with the descaling solution) with 500 ml water each for the brewing unit and the
steam nozzle.
5.
At the end, fill the water tank up to the MAX mark with clean, cold tap water.
6.
The machine heats up again and is then ready to prepare espresso.
