SWITCHING ON/OFF
The device is switched on with button 1. Most screens are switched on by the Vocatex. If this is not the
case, switch on the screen as well (see screen manual).
The Vocatex is switched off with button 1. Some screens switch off the Vocatex when they are switched
off.
After switching on, an on-screen bar shows the start-up progress. The Vocatex indicates when it is ready to
be used by telling "the device is ready for use".
READING ALOUD
The Vocatex reads all the displayed text on the screen. By pressing button 7 you can start the reading process
regardless of the chosen magnification.
Procedure with complete page
1. Put the text on the sliding table beneath the Vocatex.
2. The text now becomes visible on the screen.
3. Turn the magnification button 6 to the minimum. Turn again until you hear "full page". The tekst is now
displayed in full on the screen.
4. Press button 7 to start the read aloud function. The image is frozen.
5. To read aloud a new text, the image must be freed. Turn the magnifying button 6 to the left of wait a few
seconds after the reading had ended automatically for the entire page.
Pause
Reading aloud is initiated by pressing button 7. To pause, press button 7 or 8. To resume reading, press
button 7 or 8.
Continuous reading
The Vocatex reads continuously. When reading a full page, you do not need the sliding table. The Vocatex
automatically reads the entire text without stopping.
Navigation
The Vocatex Plus can navigate by text block or by sentence. When pressing and holding button 10 or
button 11 the device will go further or go back sentence by sentence. By pressing briefly you go further or
go back text block by text block.
