5. Important notes
Overload of the drive mechanism
Overloading the head or foot section should be avoided (Fig. 14)
to avoid damaging the gears of the drive mechanism. The drive
mechanism is not suitable for continuous operation. The system must
not be operated for longer than 2 minutes. After a continuous operation
of 2 minutes, a minimum break of 10 minutes must be observed.
Care and maintenance instructions
If required, the entire drive can be cleaned with a dry cloth or feather
duster.
Attention: Pull out the mains plug beforehand.
The entire hülsta motor-driven base frame is maintenance-free.
Notes for devices with batteries/rechargeable batteries
If the system is not used for a longer period of time (e.g. holidays),
it is recommended to remove the batteries from the remote hand-
held transmitter and store them accordingly. The use of rechargeable
batteries is not recommended but is generally possible. However,
due to the lower voltage (1.2 volt rechargeable battery versus 1.5 volt
battery), it leads to a decrease in functional life.
The theoretical lifespan of the required mignon alkaline batteries,
type LR6 AA AM3 or zinc carbon batteries type R6AAUM3 (outdated),
is approx. 3 years assuming 5 adjustments per day. However, as a
precautionary measure, it is recommended to replace the batteries
after approx. 2 years to ensure a long-lasting and safe function.
Please note: Old batteries or rechargeable batteries must not be
disposed of in the residual waste!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be removed from the old
appliance before it is scrapped. The appliance must be disconnected
from the mains before removing the battery. Batteries/battery packs
must be disposed of at appropriate public collection points/disposal
systems.
After a power cut, unplugging the mains plug or changing the batteries
of the hand-held transmitter, it is not necessary to re-establish the
contact between the remote control and the motor unit.

The stored connection is retained.
Only use original power supply units type E-Power24B, E-Pow- er24N,
E-Power28 or E-Power28N, E-Power 24S, E-Power 24SN.

6. In the event of an error

Recommended actions
Check, whether....
1. the device is connected to the power supply.
2. all cables are correctly connected (see pages 6-8).
3. the batteries in the remote hand-held transmitter are incorrectly
inserted or empty (see pages 8-9).
4. the cables or plugs show visible damage.
5. you have established contact between the remote control and
the motor unit (see pages 8-9).
6. the power supply unit shows the correct item description.
