9 Appliance-specific information

The appliance-specific instructions as described in this chapter prevail over the instructions in the other
!CAUTION
chapters! If in doubt follow the instructions in chapter 9 or contact your supplier.
The appliance-specific information as described in sections 9.1 to 9.4 applies to all models described in this
manual. Supplementary installation instructions (per appliance) are described in section 9.5.

9.1 Air slide valve and flue gas exhaust

9.1.1 Air slide valve

During installation and maintenance of the appliance, check the operation of the air slide valve.
It is possible that steel grit entered the air slide valve during transport. If the air slide valve does not move
smoothly it must be cleaned. For this purpose, the air slide valve must be disassembled. The air slide valve is
suspended by means of a bolt and a spring.
When disassembling the air slide valve, please proceed as follows (see appendix 2, fig. 3):
Prior to removing the air slide valve, you must first remove the heat reflection plate.
!Caution
It is located below the appliance and has been fastened by means of two bolts.

Remove the vermiculite plates from the bottom (see chapter 9.2.1).
Ø
Loosen the nut at the bottom and prevent the bolt at the top from turning.
As soon as the nut has been loosened, the air slide valve and spring will fall down. Make sure you catch the air

Check the air slide valve and clean it if necessary.
In order to place back the air slide valve, proceed as described for disassembly, only in reverse order.

9.1.2 Flue gas exhaust

The flue gas exhaust can be connected at the top or rear of the appliance (see appendix 2, fig. 2).
In case of a connection at the rear, please proceed as follows:
Ø
Remove the 3 bolts from the exhaust ring mounted at the top of the appliance.
Ø
Remove the bolts from the plate at the rear of the appliance.
A round plate has to be hammered out of the rear of the appliance, after this plate has been removed
!Caution
(see appendix 2, fig. 2).
Ø
Mount this plate on the top of the appliance, on the location where the exhaust ring used to be.
Ø
Mount the exhaust ring at the rear of the appliance by tightening the 3 bolts.
For connecting the flue gas exhaust we would like to refer you to section 9.5.
