7.4.2
Functional test of the motor-driven flaps (FKA version)
Press the „Manual operation" button on the control unit. Check that the closing process of the motor-driven flaps is carried
out correctly.
Open and close the motor-driven flaps several times by pressing the „Flap" button.
Move the flaps to the operating state.
7.5
Preparing maintenance activities
CAUTION
System is under pressure
Water may leak out
Before starting work, drain the inlet and outlet pipes and depressurise them.
Make sure that the fill level in the tank is below the fixing level (pump flange) of the pumps.
NOTICE
Pump runs dry
Risk of material damage
Make sure that the pump does not run dry.
The batteries must have an adequate voltage reserve to ensure the readiness for operation of the backwater flaps during
a power failure. Under normal intended use conditions a voltage of 16V is sufficient until the next specified maintenance.
The voltage is given in the control unit menu, under "Current measured values".
There is no backwater (display on the control unit). Maintenance cannot be carried out if there is any backwater!
The electrical system has been checked.
Ensure that there is no afterflow of wastewater.
Press the "Manual operation" button to pump away residual water.
Use the "manual operation" button to close the flap(s).
Switch off the control unit and secure it against being switched on again (only in the FKA version).
7.6
Maintenance of the backwater components
CAUTION
Movement of the motor-driven closure device when the sensor is wet
Risk of the hands being crushed
Always keep the sensor dry during maintenance.
Dismantle the lockable cover, flaps and slide-in parts and clean them.
Clean the interior in the area of the flaps.
Coat the seal of the lockable cover and the contact surfaces of the slide-in parts with KESSEL high-performance grease
(art. no. 681001).
If required, the contact surfaces between the locking levers and the flaps may also be coated with KESSEL high-perfor-
mance grease (art. no. 681001).
Fit the slide-in parts and flaps. Ensure that the lockable cover is in the „CLOSED" position. Also coat the lever on the
underside of the lockable cover and its contact surface on the flaps with KESSEL high-performance grease.
Install the lockable cover.
If backwater events have occurred since the last maintenance, dismantle the pump and expose the ventilation opening.
Then re-install the pump.
Switch on the control unit. Open the flaps with the „Manual operation" button (only in the FKA version).
Check the residual battery voltage through the control unit as described above. If the battery voltage is too low, replace
the battery.
