case of an emergency. The manufacturer declines any liability for acci-
dents caused by faulty or non-existing earthing of the appliance.
If the power point is unsuitable for accommodating the plug of your
appliance, have the power point changed by a licensed electrician.
1 – POWER-SUPPLY CORD
SPECIAL
INSTRUCTIONS
A short power-supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks resulting
from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised
in their use.
If an extension cord is used, the marked electrical rating of the
extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of
the appliance, if the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension
cord should be grounding type 3-wire cord. The longer cord should
be arranged so that it will not drape over the counter top or table top
where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.
2 – SWITCHING OFF THE KETTLE MANUALLY
The ON/OFF button (7) can be used to switch the kettle off before
the water has reached the required temperature.
3 – SAFETY CUT-OFF
The kettle is protected against damage resulting from use with an
insufficient volume of water. A safety cut-off will automatically dis-
connect its power supply if the heating element overheats. Should
the kettle ever boil dry during operation, you must leave it to cool for
10 minutes before refilling it with cold water. The safety cut-off will
reset automatically once it has cooled.
4 – BEFORE USING THE KETTLE
Clean the kettle before using it for the first time by filling it
completely (to the MAX mark) (4) with water, boiling the water, and
then discarding the water.
1 – FILLING THE WATER KETTLE
HOW TO USE THE
Remove the kettle from its base (6).
KETTLE
Open the lid (1), fill the kettle with water to the desired level then close
the lid (1). The kettle must contain a minimum of 0.25 l (5) and should be
filled no higher than the MAX mark (4). This prevents it from switching
off before the water has boiled or reached the required temperature.
2 – CONNECTION TO THE ELECTRICAL SUPPLY
After filling the kettle, place it on its base (6). Check the kettle is
properly seated on the base (6).
Connect the kettle to the electrical supply; an acoustic signal indi-
cates that it is ready.
