8. Connection to the Audio System
Disconnect the "IN THE MIX" DJ set and all other devices to be connected to it from the mains
supply (pull the power plugs) before connecting the devices to each other.
For connecting the audio outputs, only use suitably shielded connection cables. The use of other
cables might cause interferences.
To avoid distortions or mismatches which could damage the device, only connect devices with
the same connection type.
For this, observe also the connection information in the section "Technical Data".
The following applies to all RCA connections:
•
The white RCA jack is the jack for the left channel.
•
The red RCA jack is the jack for the right channel.
INPUT PHONO/LINE (44)
There are two stereo RCA inputs available in total. These inputs are variable inputs. They can be set using the
PHONO/LINE (48) switches next to the sockets. Depending on the switch position these inputs can be connected
to a record player or a LINE device.
The LINE switch position
The PHONO switch position
Put the switch in the PHONO position only if record players are connected. Select LINE for any
other devices.
The input signal is reproduced distorted if the switch position is incorrect. There is the risk of
damage to the connected amplifier or the loudspeakers. Only press the switch when the mixer is
not switched on. If no device is connected to the sockets, set the switch to LINE.
Connecting the record-player earth
If your record player has its own earths (usually a thin, black cable with clamp-type socket), connect these to the GND
earth screw terminals (46). This helps prevent hum trouble.
BALANCE MASTER OUT connection (50)
Connect this output to a free XLR input of your amplifier.
AMP/REC OUTPUT connection (47)
Another amplifier with RCA inputs can be connected to this socket. A recording device can be connected to the
REC output.

A device with LINE level, e.g. CD player, MP3 player or radio, can be connected
to the respective input.
A record player with a magnetic system (this system is used with almost all DJ
record players) can be connected to the respective input.
