• The surveillance camera luminaire lights up for approx. 1 minute (self-test). Then the surveillance camera is ready
for operation.
• Now set date and time as described in the next chapter and select the desired operating mode.
Only then will the PIR motion detector be active and start video recording when it detects motion in the surveillance
area.
The PIR motion detector will not react to motion alone (e.g. a falling leaf, moving objects), but different
moving heat areas, e.g. movements of a person or animal with warm body parts before a background of
a different temperature.
The videos are each about 20-30 seconds long. Continuous storage of short videos like these has some
advantages:
- Small files (ideal also for sending by email)
- Easier overwriting when the memory card is full
- Higher safety from storage errors since only short videos can be lost
