5. Safety Information

In case of damage caused by non-compliance with these operating instructions, the warranty/
guarantee will expire. We do not assume any liability for consequential damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for damage to property or personal injury caused by improper use
or failure to observe the safety information. In such cases the guarantee/warranty will expire!
Dear Customer: The following safety information is intended not only for the protection of the device but
also for the protection of your health. Please read the following items carefully:
• The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is prohibited for safety and approval
reasons (CE). Furthermore, the guarantee/warranty will expire.
• This product is not a toy and not suitable for children. Children cannot judge the dangers involved when
handling electrical devices. Only install and operate it out of the reach of children.
• The product is suitable for indoor and outdoor use (protection class IP44).
• The product is designed according to protection class I. The earth conductor must be connected;
otherwise, there is a danger to life from electrical shock in case of malfunction.
• If the product is brought from a cold into a warm room (e.g. for transport), it is possible that condensation
develops. This causes danger to life from electric shock!
Therefore, allow the product to reach ambient temperature before installing and operating it.
• The product is only suitable for use in temperate, not tropical, climates.
• The casing and lamp will become very hot during operation; danger of burns!
If the lamp position is to be adjusted (e.g. inclination), first very carefully check the casing temperature
before touching it! The same applies when changing the luminaire.
• When changing the luminaire, first disconnect the product from the mains; switch off the mains voltage
(switch off the corresponding circuit breaker). Then let the casing cool off sufficiently.
Only then must be casing be opened and the halogen rod be replaced by a new one!
Ensure that only a halogen rod with no more than 300 W is inserted.
Before the product is taken into operation, the safety glass and cover frame must be attached and
fastened again properly.
• If the safety glass on the lamp is damaged, the product must no longer be used! Switch off the mains
voltage and secure the product against further operation! A damaged safety glass may permit moisture
to enter the product; danger to life from electric shock!
Replace the safety glass before connecting the product to the mains voltage again and taking it into
operation.
• Do not operate the product anymore if you notice any damage to the casing. Switch off the mains voltage!
• Keep sufficient distance to illuminated surfaces (at least 1 m); otherwise there is a danger of fire. Never
point the beam on flammable or easily flammable objects.
Never install the product on easily flammable surfaces! Keep a sufficient distance from such materials.
• Never look directly or indirectly into the lamp; the high light intensity causes a danger of permanent eye
damage!
