14. Troubleshooting
In purchasing the record player, you have acquired a reliable product which has been designed using
state-of-the-art technology.
Nevertheless, problems or faults may occur. Therefore, we would like to describe here how to eliminate
possible faults:
Please observe the safety instructions!
Device does not work after the mains switch POWER (6) was switched on
• Mains plug not inserted properly into the socket
• The mains socket is not supplied with current
The device is turned on but no sound can be heard
• Record player not connected correctly to amplifier / mixer console
• Wrong input selected at the amplifier/mixer console
• Volume not adjusted properly at the amplifier/mixer console
• Speakers not connected properly to the amplifier
A channel does not work
• A cinch cable has come off
• The balance control on the amplifier/mixing console is set incorrectly
The sound is distorted
• Stylus force set incorrectly
• Anti-skating compensation set incorrectly
• PHONO/LINE switch 23) set incorrectly
• Pick-up head defective or worn
Pick-up arm cannot be lowered
• Pick-up arm counterweight (20) set incorrectly
There is background noise
• Record or pick-up needle is dirty
• Stylus force set incorrectly
• Anti-skating compensation set incorrectly
Repairs other than those described above should only be carried out by an authorised specia-
list.
