13. Maintenance
Check the technical safety of the record player regularly, e.g., for damage to the mains cable or the
housing.
If you have any reason to believe that the device can no longer be operated safely, disconnect it immedia-
tely and make sure it is not unintentionally operated. Pull the power plug out of the power socket!
It can be assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
• there is visible damage to the device or to the power line
• the device no longer functions
• the device has been stored for a long time under unfavourable conditions or
• after exposure to heavy stress during transport
Always observe the following safety instructions before cleaning or servicing the device:
Live components may be exposed if covers are opened or components are removed.
The device must be disconnected from all power sources before carrying out any servicing or
repair work.
Capacitors inside the device may still carry voltage even though they have been disconnected
from all power sources.
Only qualified experts familiar with the hazards involved and the relevant regulations may per-
form repairs.
The device should only be cleaned with a soft, dry cloth or brush from the outside.
Never use any aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions that may damage the surface of the
housing.
Ensure that you do not mistakenly alter the settings for the resting weight or for the anti-skating function.
Make sure that the needle protection is in place while cleaning to avoid unnecessary damage to
the pick-up needle..
