g) Capacity measurement
1. Turn the DMM on and select measuring range " ".
2. Insert the red measuring lead into the
socket (9).
3. If the measuring leads are not connected to any input, the value should be approximately 10 nF.
4. For accurate measurement, use the relative measurement function. Press the SELECT button (1)
to set the DMM zero. To switch back, press the SELECT button (1) again.
5. Now connect the two measuring prods with the object to be measured (capacitor, etc.).
6. The display shows the capacitance in nF / µF. For capacitance higher than 100 µF, longer time is
required for the measurement.
7. As soon as "OL" appears on the display, you have exceeded the measuring range or the measuring
leads are short-circuited.
8. After measuring, remove the measuring leads from the measuring object and turn the DMM off.
Turn the rotary switch (5) to the position "OFF".
h) Frequency measuring and duty cycle
Proceed as follows to measure frequencies:
1. Turn the DMM on at the rotary switch and select measuring range "Hz/%".
2. Insert the red measuring lead into the Hz/% socket (8) and the black measuring lead into the COM
socket (9).
3. Now connect the two measuring leads to the object to be measured (signal generator, switch etc.).
4. The frequency with the corresponding unit are displayed.
5. After measuring, remove the measuring leads from the measuring object and turn the DMM off.
Turn the rotary switch (5) to "OFF".
Proceed as follows to measure the pulse-pause ratio (duty cycle):
1. Turn the DMM on at the rotary switch and select measuring range "Hz/%".
2. Press the "SELECT" button (1). The pulse/break ratio is displayed in %.
3. Now connect the two measuring leads to the object to be measured (signal generator, switch etc.).
4. The pulse-pause ratio is displayed.
5. After measuring, remove the measuring leads from the measuring object and turn the DMM off.
Turn the rotary switch (5) to "OFF".
