prior to first use
Before using the coffee machine for the first time, proceed as follows: Carefully unpack your coffee machine and remove all packag-
ing material and possible promotional stickers. Also do not forget the cover cap at the bottom of the reservoir. Keep the packaging
(plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. After unpacking the appliance, carefully check it for external damage that may
have occurred during transport.
Place the coffee machine on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface. It is best to clean the interior of the new coffee machine prior to
using it for the first time. This is done as follows:
• Take the removable water reservoir from the appliance, slide the cover upwards and fold it over. Fill the water
reservoir with cold drinking water. Do not fill it above the MAX mark. Place the cover back on the reservoir and slide
the reservoir back into the appliance.
• Place the one- or two-cup filter without coffee in the filter holder, making sure that the ball at the side of the filter
falls precisely into the indentation in the holder. Then place the holder in the appliance from the INSERT position
and firmly turn the handle counter-clockwise to the LOCK position.
• Place a cup in the centre of the cup grille and make sure the steam controller is switched off (turned upwards).
• Insert the plug in the socket and press the on/off button (
to indicate that the appliance is being pre-heated. When the lights remain on, the pre-heating process has been completed.
Attention: During pre-heating, the appliance does not work when pressing the flashing buttons.
