INTENDED USE

Device is intended to inflate and/or deflate Vac- Lok™ cushions which is intended for patient positioning.
CAUTION
Federal (United States) law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.
WARNING
Routinely check vacuum compressors and power cords for signs of deterioration.
l
Do not use if device appears damaged.
l
Do not cover ventilation openings.
l
Do not attempt to service device.
l
Use of this equipment adjacent to or stacked with other equipment should be avoided because it could result
l
in improper operation. If such use is necessary, this equipment and the other equipment should be observed
to verify that they are operating normally.
Vac-Lok™ Vacuum Compressor is for use with CIVCO Radiotherapy Vac-Lok™ Cushions only.
l
Do not continuously inflate or deflate Vac-Lok™ cushion for more than 2 minutes per hour.
l
Equipment is not to be modified without CIVCO Radiotherapy authorization.
l
To avoid risk of electric shock, only connect equipment to a supply mains with protective earth.
l
Users of device should ensure they have read and understand instructions for use prior to operating device.
l
Portable RF communications equipment (including peripherals such as antenna cables and external antennas)
l
should be used no closer than 30 cm (12 inches) to any part of the Dual Function Vac-Lok™ Vacuum
Compressor, including cables specified by the manufacturer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of
this equipment could result.
Use of accessories, transducers and cables other than those specified or provided by the manufacturer of this
l
equipment could result in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic immunity of
this equipment and result in improper operation.
NOTE:
If any serious incident occurs in relation to device, incident should be reported to manufacturer. If
l
incident occurred within the European Union, also report to the competent authority of the Member State
in which you are established.
Place female valve connector onto cushion valve to let air into Vac- Lok™ cushion without using pump.
l
Dual Action Vac- Lok™ Compressor is suitable for use in Radiation Oncology planning and treatment
l
environments.
USING DUAL FUNCTION VAC- LOK™ VACUUM COMPRESSOR
1.
Verify Vac- Lok™ Vacuum compressor's ON/OFF switch is OFF.
2.
Plug power cord into Vac- Lok™ Vacuum Compressor.
3.
Plug hand or foot pendant into Vac- Lok™ Vacuum Compressor.
4.
Plug power cord into appropriate GFCI (ground fault circuit interrupter) receptacle.
5.
Plug vacuum hose into Vac- Lok™ vacuum compressor.
6.
Turn device ON.
7.
Attach vacuum hose to cushion valve (refer to Vac-Lok™ Cushion manual).
8.
Briefly press INFLATE ↑ and DEFLATE ↓ buttons on hand or foot pendant to verify unit works in both modes
(refer to Vac-Lok™ Cushion manual).
9.
Deflate until audible alarm sounds.
NOTE:
Dual Action Vac- Lok™ Compressor shall pull vacuum until the audible chime, resulting in a rigid Vac- Lok™
Bag.  If performance is lost, due to electromagnetic disturbances, the Vac- Lok™ Bag will not be rigid.
10.
Verify device's ON/OFF switch is OFF.
11.
Disconnect vacuum hose from Vac- Lok™ cushion.
