8.4
Maintenance activities
8.4.1
General
•
Check the operation of the jack. Consult the Holmatro dealer if the tool is damaged.
8.4.2
Ratchet mechanism
Lubricate
Refer to Fig. 7.
•
Lubricate the ratchet mechanism regularly through the grease nipple.
Clean and replace parts
•
Remove the locking and the spacer rings.
•
Remove the ratchet housing from the shaft.
•
Remove the lid on the ratchet.
•
Remove the gear from the housing.
•
Pull the slide from the housing.
WARNING
The plungers are held in position by springs: they can jump out during dismantling.
•
Clean the parts with a degreasing agent and remove any corrosion deposits.
•
Replace the worn parts.
•
Lightly oil the parts before fitting.

Gear and screw
•
Remove the locking and spacer rings.
•
Remove the ratchet housing from the ratchet shaft.
•
Release the set screw at the bottom of the jack housing.
