go crisp.
134
Possible cause
The food is very fatty.
The fryer pan () and the fry-
ing basket () still contain fat
residues from the previous
cooking process.
The chips have not been suf-
ficiently soaked.
The variety of potato is unsuitable.
The potatoes are too moist.
Troubleshooting
During preparation, fat from
these extremely greasy foods
drips onto the base of the
fryer pan (). The fat causes
a higher temperature than
usual to develop in the fryer
pan – this does not impair
the appliance or the cooking
result.
Fat residue is burning. Clean
the fryer pan () and the fry-
ing basket () after each use.
Place the chips in cold water
for around minutes to
remove the starch. Dry the
chips using kitchen paper be-
fore adding to the fryer pan.
The crispiness is dependent
on the water and starch con-
tent of the variety of potato
used and the quantity of oil.
Dry the potatoes carefully
and cover them with about
tablespoon of cooking oil.
Cut the potatoes into smaller
pieces.
