Self-Cleaning Function
Please Note!
■
Danger of scalding! Hot water and
steam will emerge from the bottom
of the iron during the self-cleaning
process. Keep the bottom of the iron
away from all body parts and delicate
materials!
■
Only ever press the self-cleaning
button to perform self-cleaning and
never during ironing!
The device has a self-cleaning function al-
lowing limescale residues to be removed
from the device. Additional descaling of
the device is not necessary.
When the control lamp of the self-clean-
ing button (2) is lit up constantly, carry
out the following operations:
1. Place the ironing station near to a sink
or similar outlet.
2. Place the iron on the storage area (10)
of the ironing station.
3. Fill the water tank (13) half full with
water (see the "Use" chapter – "Fill-
ing the Water Tank").
4. Plug the mains plug into a plug socket.
5. Heat the iron up to the highest tem-
perature setting.
6. Take the iron off the ironing station
and hold it horizontally over the sink.
7. Hold down the self-cleaning button
for approx. 2 seconds to start the
self-cleaning process.
The control lamp flashes during the
self-cleaning process and the device
emits a beep.
8. Tilt the iron back and forth slightly
to allow the water to run out of all
nozzles. The self-cleaning function
is automatically ended after approx.
3 minutes.
9. If you need to, operate the device
again for a short time in order to allow
any remaining amounts of water to
evaporate.

TROUBLESHOOTING
If the device does not work properly,
check whether you are able to rectify the
problem yourself. If the problem cannot
be solved with the steps below, contact
the customer service department.
Do not attempt to repair an elec-
trical device yourself!
The device does not work.
The mains plug is not inserted in the plug
socket correctly.
► Correct the fit of the mains plug.
The plug socket is defective.
► Try another plug socket.
There is no mains voltage.
► Check the fuse of the electrical dis-
tributor (fuse box).
No steam is produced.
The water tank (13) is empty.
► Top up the water tank.
The device has not yet reached the oper-
ating temperature.
► Wait until the heat control lamp (1)
goes out.
The temperature control dial (7) is on a
low temperature setting.
► Select a higher temperature setting.
The steam production has not yet been
initiated.
► Press the steam button (3) 2 to 3
times to initiate the steam produc-
tion.
At high temperatures the steam pro-
duced is dry and almost invisible. This is
exacerbated by a high ambient temper-
ature.
► Turn the temperature control dial (7)
to a lower temperature to check
whether the device is producing
steam.
