The appliance must be cooled down before

DEEP-FRY SAFELY!
Always unplug the appliance when it is not in
use or when you are servicing the appliance.
The plastic part of the handle can melt if it
comes into contact with hot oil or liquid fat. Do

SPATTERS
The deep fryer has a 'cold zone'. This zone is located
in the bottom of the appliance. The 'cold zone' is
a zone into which the larger bits of food sink. The
lower temperature in this zone prevents the bits of
food from burning.
Deep fryers with a 'cold zone' are sensitive to water,
because the heating element is immersed in oil or
liquid fat. There are various ways in which water can
come into contact with the oil or liquid fat:
A lot of food naturally contains water. This
applies especially to potatoes.
Condensation from hot steam.
Frozen food can contain ice particles.
The food was not dried properly after it was
washed.
The removable tank was not properly dried
after it was cleaned.
The wrong type of oil or liquid fat is used. See
General Tips.
If water comes into contact with hot oil or liquid fat,
there could be excessive spattering, foaming or even
overflowing.
Try as far as possible to prevent water from
coming into contact with the hot oil or liquid
fat as a result of one of the above mentioned
causes.
Change the oil or liquid fat regularly.
USE
First fully unfold the handle of the basket
outwards until it locks into place. Make sure
that, when folded, the handle does not hang
in the oil or fat, as this could damage the
plastic handle.
Fill the removable tank with oil or liquid fat.
Make sure that the level of the oil or liquid
fat is between the minimum and maximum
markings on the tank.
Insert the plug into the socket at this point,
and not before.
The appliance is switched on by turning the
thermostat to the desired temperature. The
temperature can be set between 150°C and
190°C. Please refer to the food packaging for
the desired temperature and cooking time.
See General Tips for guidelines on selecting
the right temperature.
While the appliance is on, the temperature
light will go on and off. The appliance is fitted
with a thermostat which keeps the oil or
liquid fat at the desired temperature. The
