Connection
d) Connection of the Voltage Supply
The mains outlets to which the mixing desk is connected must be easily accessible to quickly
separate the device from the mains voltage in case of an error.
The mixer and all connected devices have to be switched off.
Ensure that all the electrical connections and connection cables between the different devices
and any extension cables comply with the regulations and comply with the operating instructions.
•
Connect the low-voltage plug of the enclosed power unit to the AC 9V port on the mixing desk (13).
•
Plug the mains adapter into a mains socket (230V~/50Hz).
e) Connection of the USB interfaces
The USB interfaces can be used as inputs and outputs.
Use as input for playback on the computer and output for recording on the computer's hard disk (audio recording).
The USB cable may not be longer than 3m, otherwise the device might malfunction.
A specific software is required for recording on the hard disk.
The output signal of the USB interfaces is not influenced by the volume control.
•
Switch your computer on and wait until the operating system is completely booted.
•
Then connect the USB interface of the mixing desk to a free USB port of the computer. The operating system of
your computer will detect the new hardware, and automatically install the driver (already present in the operating
system).
•
If your computer has already a sound card (for ex. Onboard Sound of the Mainboard), you can switch, in Windows
XP e.g., in the control panel between the sound card and the mixing desk for playback and recording (Control
panel > Sounds and audio devices > Audio).
•
With a separately available audio recording software or the Windows audio recorder, you can record. Install the
software, following the instructions of the installation programme.
USB operation is not possible in Windows safe mode or under DOS (or only to a limited extent for USB
keyboard/mouse). You cannot operate the mixing desk here.
Choose in the control panel the correct sound card (internal sound card or Onboard Sound or the mixing
desk). After connecting the mixing desk to the computer, it is normally activated automatically.
