Preparation of the Hand-Operated Sewing Machine
CAUTION!
❐ Make sure the device is switched off before performing all preparatory activities!
You can either connect the hand-operated sewing machine to the mains power or operate it
using batteries. For battery mode, the batteries need to be inserted fi rst.
Inserting Batteries
For battery mode, you require 4 x 1.5 V AA batteries. These are not supplied with the device.

If you do not use the device for a lengthy period of time, remove the batteries in order to
prevent them from leaking.
Connecting the Mains Adapter
For mains operation, you require a mains adapter (6 volt DC, 800 mA). This is not supplied with
the device.
1. Connect the adapter cable to the connecting socket (5) of the sewing machine.
2. Plug the adapter plug into an easily accessible plug socket which corresponds to the techni-
cal data.
3. To disconnect the device from the mains, fi rst pull the adapter plug out of the plug socket and
then pull the adapter cable out of the socket on the device.

1. Slide the On/Off switch (4) away from the arm (2) of the sewing
machine to deactivate it.
2. Turn the sewing machine upside down. The battery compartment
cover is located on the bottom of the device. Open the battery
compartment (6) by sliding the cover away from the housing.
3. Insert 4 x 1.5 V AA batteries. Pay attention to the correct
polarity (+ / –).
4. Flip the battery compartment cover shut, press it down and
slide it back into the locking latch until it is heard to engage.

Always have spare batteries available and replace the batteries
when the performance of the sewing machine begins to diminish.
