Risks of Injury
❐ Danger of suffocation! Keep the packaging material away from children and animals.
❐ Make sure that children are not able to play with the device. When using the device near
children, ensure that children do not touch the device.
❐ Keep fi ngers away from all moving parts. Special care should be taken in the area of the
sewing needle.
❐ Do not sew any clothing while it is being worn on your body or the body of another person.
Take off the clothing before doing any sewing.
❐ The device should not be used if it is damaged.
❐ In order to prevent electric shocks, place the device in a location in which the device – and
if present – the mains cable and the mains adapter cannot come into contact with water
or other liquids. Should the device fall into water, switch off the power supply immediately.
Never touch the device, the cable or the mains adapter with wet hands.
❐ If you are using a mains cable, make sure that it does not present a trip hazard.
❐ Do not leave the device unattended.
Danger of Fire
❐ Do not use the device if highly fl ammable gases are present in the air.
Danger from Batteries
❐ Batteries can be deadly if swallowed. Therefore keep batteries and the device out of the reach
of small children. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical assistance immediately.
❐ Before inserting the batteries, check whether the contacts in the device and on the batteries
are clean; clean them if necessary.
❐ Use only the battery type specifi ed in the technical data. Use high-performance alkaline
batteries.
❐ Always replace all the batteries at the same time. Do not use batteries of different types
or brands, or batteries with different capacities. When replacing batteries, note the correct
polarity (+/–).
❐ Take the batteries out of the device when they are discharged or if the device is not going
to be used for a prolonged period. This will prevent any damage that might occur if a battery
leaks.
❐ Should a battery have leaked, do not allow your skin, eyes and mucous membranes to come
into contact with the battery acid. If you touch battery acid, rinse the affected sites with
abundant fresh water immediately and contact a doctor as soon as possible.
❐ Remove dead batteries from the device immediately. Clean the contacts before you insert a
new battery.
❐ The batteries must not be recharged or reactivated by other means, dismantled, thrown into
a fi re, immersed in fl uids, or short-circuited.
