INSTALLING THE RECORDER

The illustration shown at the beginning of this guide gives a general picture of the installation of the
device and the sensor.
The fastening belt slides into the slots of the device and serves to maintain the device at waist level. To
prevent any skin irritation, it should be placed over a T-shirt or pajama top.
In order to record the correct position, the device must be well maintained and positioned at the front,
at waist level. The front panel of the device must be visible with connectors on the top.
The ends of the belt have Velcro fastenings so that it can easily be adjusted. It must fit the body closely
but should not be too tight. The patient must be able to breathe freely.
Installation of the mandibular movement sensor
Placement of the sensor on the patient's face is illustrated in the operating instructions included with
the sensor and in the patient's leaflet. A simple reminder here is that it is important that the probes are
parallel and on the same vertical axis. To install the probe on the patient's face, use only hypoallergenic
adhesive tape in order to avoid any risk of allergic reaction.
The sensor for measurement of mandibular movement is reusable but must be properly cleaned
between each use (see operating instructions of sensor).

Indications on the device must be observed when connecting the
sensors. The mandibular movement sensor plugs into the socket
marked 'JAWAC'. The optional oximetry module from Nonin, or the ECG
module, plugs into the 'AUX' entry.
Each connector has a notch, which matches a bump on the corre-
sponding socket on the device. Once notch and bump are aligned, push
the connector in until locked in place.
