Scaling is an issue in a marine aquarium and may affect the operation of the pump.
•
Monthly cleaning is necessary in order to ensure proper operation.
•
Always remove the plug from the socket before any maintenance on the pump and tank.
•
Open the pump and remove the rotor and ceramic shaft.
•
Clean the rotor and shaft in a solution of 50% vinegar and 50% water, let it soak at least 15 minutes.
Check if the rotor rotates freely on the shaft. In some cases, it may require to soak longer to remove all the
limescale.
•
Mount the pump and place it back into the aquarium.
•
The rotor is subjected to wear. Depending on usage it should be replaced every year, this is normal wear and is
not covered by warranty. Replacement rotors are available from your dealer.
