• Protect glass tables: a thermal or mechanical impact could shatter the
tabletop and cause the hot appliance to injure those sitting round the
table.
• Be careful not to place the appliance on the edge of a table or work
surface, to prevent it from tipping over.
• When not in use, the appliance should be stored in a dry environment.
• never use the appliance near water.
• This appliance must be protected from frost. never leave it in a car in
winter, or in any other place subject to freezing, to avoid damage.

PaRticulaR saFety Recommendations

• The appliance and its exposed parts get very hot
when in use and remains hot for a while after use.
Be sure to keep their surroundings clear, and do not
handle them until they have cooled down comple-
tely.
• Do not move the appliance while still hot.
• Beware of grease splashes.
• When using the appliance, avoid any sudden move-
ments likely to affect its stability.
• never use the appliance without the grease collec-
tor.
• Avoid impacting the enamelled cast-iron plate (with
the tip of a knife, for example).
• Do not handle the appliance with wet hands.
• never move the appliance while in use.
• Apart from during the preheating period, do not leave the ap-
pliance on when not in use.

• Do not obstruct the ventilation holes.
• Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with
the hot parts of the appliance.
• Do not allow plastic utensils or other heat sensitive materials to
come into contact with the hotplate while cooking.
• never use the appliance as a room-heating device.
• Do not remove the hotplate while the appliance is switched
on. Make sure that the temperature control knobs are set to
"0" and that the "on/off" switch is set to "o" (off) before dis-
connecting the power cord.
• Allow the appliance to cool before cleaning and storing.
• The hotplate is very heavy and is not attached to the main body
of the appliance. Care must be taken when moving or transpor-
ting the appliance to prevent the hotplate from tipping over.

uNpACKINg
• unpack the appliance and remove all the plastic
bags, cardboard, and paper protecting its different
parts.
Important remarks
Remove the protective film from all 3 sides
of the body of the appliance as thoroughly
as possible, taking care to also remove any
residual traces.
• Remove any self-adhesive labels that may have
been affixed to the product, as well as any infor-
mation leaflets.
• Keep the packaging elements. they will be
needed in the event of an intervention by the
After-Sales Service.
• packaging instructions are provided at the end
of the manual.
• Never leave plastic bags within the reach of
children.
ASSeMBly
• install the appliance by following the safety
recommendations.
• The appliance comes with 4 adjustable feet that
need to be mounted before using the appliance for
the first time. The 4 legs are packed in a separate
bag. unpack them, turn the body of the appliance
over so that you can access the underside, and
screw the feet into the 4 corners of the body.
Turn the body the right way up and place it on
a flat surface. Adjust the height of the legs by
screwing or unscrewing them. This adjustment
allows the body, and therefore the hotplate, to
be tilted slightly to allow grease to drain away
into the slot located at the front of the hotplate
when cooking.

& Care" on page 26.
