9. Appliance-specific information

The appliance-specific instructions as described in this section prevail over the instructions in the other sections!
!CAUTION
If in doubt follow the instructions in section 9 or contact your supplier.

9.1 Fan(s)

9.1.1 How the fans work

The fans are operated by means of the switch on the appliance (see appendix 2, fig. 3). We can distinguish 3
positions:
Position I – ON (the fans are running, irrespective of the temperature of the fire)
Position O– OFF (the fans are off)
Position II – AUTO (the fans will only run if the fire is at the correct temperature)
The speed of the fans is regulated by means of a slider on the adapter. In position 1 the fans are running at the
lowest speed and in position 4 they are running at the highest speed.

9.1.2 Installing the fans

The 12V fans are located below the combustion chamber and have been pre-mounted (wiring included).
When installing the appliance you must take into account the connection of the power cable. This power cable is
mounted at the rear of the fire. Make sure the cable is always at floor level and never allow it to run over the top of
the fire.
Ø
Connect the supplied adapter to a 230V wall socket. The maximum distance between this wall socket and the
appliance is 3 metres.
Ø
Connect the power cable coming from the appliance to this adapter (see appendix 2, fig. 4a (800V) + 4b (1000V)).
Do not move the pre-mounted wiring!
!Caution
Do not connect any other equipment to the adapter.

9.1.3 Maintenance of the fans

The fans should be cleaned periodically. If this does not take place in time, it is possible that the fans cause noise
nuisance.
To do this proceed as follows:
Ø
Disconnect the adapter from the wall socket.
Ø
Open the door.
Ø
Remove the top screws that are used to mount the grates (see appendix 2, fig. 5).
Ø
Remove the grates.
Ø
Carefully clean the blades of the fan using a vacuum cleaner and a dry cloth or brush.
Ø
Replace the fan(s) if the noise nuisance continues after cleaning (see section 9.1.4 'Replacing the fan(s)').
Only perform maintenance once the fire has fully cooled down.
!Tip

9.1.4 Replacing the fan(s) and/or clickson

Replace the fan(s) and/or clickson if they continue to produce excessive noise in spite of regular maintenance.
To do this proceed as follows:
Replace the fans after the fire has fully cooled down.
!Caution
Ø
Disconnect the adapter from the wall socket.
Ø
Open the door.
Ø
Lift the door out by first sliding it upwards, then tilting it slightly forwards and then lowering it.
Ø
Remove the frame (see appendix 2, fig. 6).
Ø
Remove the top screws that are used to mount the grates (see appendix 2, fig. 5).
Ø
Remove the grates.
Ø
Remove the bottom screws that are used to mount the panel
(see appendix 2, fig. 6).
Ø
The fans and the panel can now be removed. Disconnect the electrical connection of the switch
(see electric diagram, appendix 2, fig. 4).
Ø
The clickson (on the left side) can now be removed by removing the 2 screws.
Ø
Repeat the above-mentioned steps in reverse order when installing the fans and/or clickson.
