8. INSERTING THE BATTERY

1. Remove the light sensor, by unscrewing the sleeve between the light sensor and the main
unit. Open the housing with a pointy object (e.g. small screwdriver, etc.) (see figure 2).
Lever open the housing in the direction of the arrow.
2. Pull the data logger from the housing.
3. Turn the data logger around and insert the battery into the battery compartment in the
correct polarity. Observe the correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment.
4. Push the data logger back into the housing until it latches. Re-mount the light sensor to
the main unit. The data logger is ready for programming.
A battery change is required when the yellow LED ("ALM") flashes at the interval of the
set measuring rate. In this case, end the recording of data, save the data recorded so
far and restart your recording after replacing the battery.
The saved data are not lost at a battery change or failure during recording of up to
30 minutes.

9. SETTING UP THE DATA LOGGER

1. Connect the data logger to a PC via its USB port and start the Voltsoft software. Select (if
several data loggers are already installed) on the software the desired datalogger type by
"double-clicking".
2. Follow the instructions of the software manual (chapter 4.3), to let the software recognise
the data logger.
3. Once the data logger has been recognised and added, you can set it up according to the
instructions of the software manual (chapter 6.8).
